In July 2002, the Mattoon Public Library completed the renovation
of existing space for the purpose of creating a public computing
center. The Community Technology Center is equipped
with 12 personal computers offering the community an opportunity
to access knowledge using a broadband connection to the Internet
and to manipulate and create knowledge using Microsoft Office,
Encarta Reference Suite, and educational games.
Activities
in the Technology Center
One of the visions of the Community Technology Center is
for it to be a place where people can come and learn how
to use computers or to advance their skills. If you are
